As a Master Gardener, Elaine Fritz teaches South Dakotans about plants found on the prairies of Eastern South Dakota. She is the founder of southdakotamastergardener.com.

Elaine has degrees in Agriculture and Interior Design. Elaine has 15 years of professional experience with the City of Sioux Falls Park Department, which is certified by the National Parks and Recreation Association.  She is a certified commercial pesticide applicator, and a member of the American Mosquito Control Association.

Elaine has spoken and lead activities at McCrory Gardens, The Outdoor Campus, Brandon Valley School District and Sioux Falls Park and Recreation Department. She is also a featured artist for Downtown Sioux Falls, May and October First Friday Event, at ‘Home Porch”.

She is the mother of a deafblind child with multiple disabilities, and has seen first hand the togetherness, wonder, and transformation that horticulture therapy offers disabled children and stressed out moms alike.

Elaine is a member of the South Dakota Deafblind advisory board and 2018/2019 L.E.N.D parent trainee for USD School of Medicine, where she focuses her research on Horticulture Therapy for Children with Duel Sensory Loss.

Elaine’s home and studio is in Baltic, South Dakota, where she gardens and creates garden and home decor with her husband, Robert Fritz, agriculture research expert and agronomy expert for AgPhD (Radio ) Information for Agrictuture/Heftty Seed Co./HBS Farms, 2 children, and 3 dogs.
